ICDAIC ’26 – International Conference on Data Analytics and Intelligence Computing

Third International Conference on Data Analytics and Intelligence Computing (ICDAIC’26)       organized by the Department of Artificial intelligence & Data Science, Velammal Institute of Technology, was held on 2 April 2026. The conference brought together academicians, researchers, industry experts, and students to discuss recent advancements in Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and Intelligent Computing. It featured keynote speeches from distinguished industry leaders and covered emerging research areas such as LLMs, Computer Vision, Generative AI, Federated Learning, and Intelligent Systems. Mr. Iyyapaan S, Director of Data & AI, Stealth AI Startup, Chennai, Mr. Theagarajan Thanikachalam, Associate Director, Latent View Analytics, Chennai, Mr. Moorthy Ramasamy, Lifecycle Service Director, Yokogawa Corporation of America, USA, Mr. Manogar Loganathan, Co-Founder, SeeWiseAI, Singapore were the keynote speakers in the event. The conference received active participation from students, research scholars, academicians, and industry professionals from different parts of India and the Paper presentation event hosted a total of 150 teams from all engineering backgrounds. Participants presented research papers, innovative projects, and technical solutions related to Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics.

The Second International Conference on Data Analytics and Intelligence Computing (ICDAIC’25), organized by the Department of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Velammal Institute of Technology, was successfully held on 9 April 2025. The conference brought together academicians, researchers, industry experts, and students to deliberate on the latest advancements in Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and Intelligent Computing. The event was graced by Dr. G. Kumaresan, Director, Centre for Research, Anna University, Chennai, as the Chief Guest; Shri Victor Sundararaj, Associate Vice President, Infosys Limited, Bangalore, as the Guest of Honour; and Shri K. Soundara Rajan, Business Partner Leader – Cloud Run & AI, Nolij Networks & Solutions Ltd., UK, as the Keynote Speaker. The conference featured insightful keynote sessions and technical discussions on emerging research areas such as Large Language Models (LLMs), Computer Vision, Generative AI, Federated Learning, and Intelligent Systems. The paper presentation event attracted 200 teams from various engineering disciplines across India, providing a platform for participants to present innovative research papers, projects, and technical solutions in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics. The conference successfully fostered knowledge exchange, research collaboration, and industry-academia interaction, contributing to advancements in intelligent computing and data-driven technologies.

The conference brought together academicians, researchers, industry experts, and students to deliberate on the latest advancements in Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and Intelligent Computing. The event was graced by the Chief Guest Shri. A.Madhan Karthikeyan, Senior Delivery Leader, Infosys, Chennai, Keynote Speaker Urvashi Nag, Senior Project Associative, Central Scientific Instrument Organization. The conference featured insightful keynote sessions and technical discussions on emerging research areas such as, Generative AI, Federated Learning, and Intelligent Systems. The paper presentation event attracted 270 teams from various engineering disciplines across India, providing a platform for participants to present innovative research papers, projects, and technical solutions in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics. The conference successfully fostered knowledge exchange, research collaboration, and industry-academia interaction, contributing to advancements in intelligent computing and data-driven technologies.

Neuronex, a symposium organized by Department Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Velammal Institute of Technology, emerges as a dynamic platform intertwining academia, innovation, and collaboration within the realm of neuroscience on 25 February  2026. Rooted in the pursuit of unraveling the mysteries of the brain and nervous system, Neuronex embodies a convergence of diverse minds, from seasoned researchers to budding enthusiasts, all driven by a common passion for understanding the complexities of the human mind  . The program was inaugurated by Mr.Anandhakrishnan Devaraj, National Head – NGA Engineering Hiring at Wipro Limited.

The program was inaugurated Shyamala Lakshmi Ilangovan, the Head of Learning & Development for the Campus Graduates Training Program at Hexaware Technologies.

Neuronex’24, a National level Technical Symposium organized by the Department Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Velammal Institute of Technology, emerges as a dynamic platform intertwining academia, innovation, and collaboration within the realm of neuroscience. Rooted in the pursuit of unraveling the mysteries of the brain and nervous system, Neuronex embodies a convergence of diverse minds, from seasoned researchers to budding enthusiasts, all driven by a common passion for understanding the complexities of the human mind. The Chief  Guest Mr.Anandhakrishnan Devarajan  Region Head- South India, Wipro Pvt. Ltd., Chennai graced the function and gave insights about the recent trends in AI and Technologies related to it. Around 300 participants across the state participated and won prizes in the technical and non-technical events.

THAILEX’23

The national level technical symposium THAILEX’23 jointly organized by Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science and Department of Computer Science and Engineering was held on Friday,the10th of March2023.Every aspect of the event, from its inception to the execution had been the outcome of the culminated efforts of the faculty and students of the department. The website for the symposium was opened on 20th February ‘23andregistrationsclosedon 5th March ‘23, in the duration of which an overwhelming response had been observed from participants belonging to over 40 colleges from all over the state.

The IEEE Student Branch at Velammal Institute of Technology was established to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional engineering practice. Originally founded in 2010 and reactivated in 2024, the branch has grown from 12 student members and 4 professional members to 35 student members and 3 professional members from the Departments of  ECE, EEE, and AIDS.

 Affiliated with the IEEE Madras Section under IEEE Region 10 (Asia Pacific) , the branch actively organizes technical events, workshops, and professional development activities while encouraging participation in regional and national IEEE programs. Through its active IEEE societies, including the  Communications Society (ComSoc), Circuits and Systems Society (CASS), Computational Intelligence Society (CIS), Industrial Electronics Society (IES), and Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group, the branch promotes innovation, technical excellence, leadership, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

 Our mission is to develop globally competent engineers committed to innovation, professional ethics, and advancing technology for the benefit of humanity.

Inauguration of IEEE Student Branch & IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group

Date: 3 March 2025 | Time: 9:30 AM | Venue: Seminar Hall-I, Velammal Institute of Technology

The IEEE Student Branch and IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group were inaugurated on 3 March 2025 at Velammal Institute of Technology. The event was attended by 120 third-year ECE students and 24 faculty members. The ceremony featured addresses by the dignitaries and a technical talk on Generative AI by Dr. M. Kavitha. The inauguration marked the beginning of a platform to foster technical excellence, leadership, professional networking, and greater participation of women in engineering through IEEE activities.

Expert Talk on “Exploring IEEE Scholarships and Funding Opportunities

Date: 20 August 2025 | Time: 1:30 PM – 3:15 PM | Venue: First Floor Seminar Hall, Velammal Institute of Technology

The Departments of ECE, AI & Data Science, and IT, in association with the IEEE Student Branch (STB11491), organized an expert talk on “Exploring IEEE Scholarships and Funding Opportunities.” The session was delivered by Mr. Arun Mathiyalagan, Vice-Chair, IEEE Young Professionals India Council, who provided valuable insights into IEEE scholarships, research grants, membership benefits, and the application process. The event was inaugurated by Dr. N. Balaji, Principal, and coordinated by the Heads of the participating departments. Around 100 students and faculty members from ECE, AI & Data Science, IT, IEEE, IETE, and ACM actively participated, making the session an informative platform for academic, professional, and research development.

Research Exposure Visit – 5G Testbed Lab, IIT Madras

Date: 22 August 2025 | Venue: 5G Testbed Laboratory, IIT Madras

The IEEE Student Branch (STB11491), in association with the Departments of ECE, AI & Data Science, and IT, organized a Research Exposure Visit to the 5G Testbed Laboratory, IIT Madras. The visit provided IEEE and IETE student and faculty members with firsthand exposure to advanced 5G technologies, including the 5G network architecture, Open RAN, IoT applications, and next-generation wireless communication systems. Through expert interactions and live demonstrations, participants gained valuable insights into cutting-edge research, innovation, and real-world applications of 5G technology, making the visit an enriching academic and professional learning experience.
