About IEEE Student BranchStudent Branch ProfileDepartment-wise MembershipOffice Bearers Activities

The IEEE Student Branch at Velammal Institute of Technology was established to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional engineering practice. Originally founded in 2010 and reactivated in 2024, the branch has grown from 12 student members and 4 professional members to 35 student members and 3 professional members from the Departments of  ECE, EEE, and AIDS.

Affiliated with the IEEE Madras Section under IEEE Region 10 (Asia Pacific) , the branch actively organizes technical events, workshops, and professional development activities while encouraging participation in regional and national IEEE programs. Through its active IEEE societies, including the  Communications Society (ComSoc), Circuits and Systems Society (CASS), Computational Intelligence Society (CIS), Industrial Electronics Society (IES), and Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group, the branch promotes innovation, technical excellence, leadership, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Our mission is to develop globally competent engineers committed to innovation, professional ethics, and advancing technology for the benefit of humanity.
