150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi was celebrated in a grand manner in our college on October 2, 2019. The main objective of the day is to spread the thoughts of the father of our nation to our students. Mr. T. Ajith, Head of English department welcomed the gathering. Dr.T. Chandrashekar, Principal delivered the presidential address and shared the thoughts of Gandhiji to our students. Elocution competition was also conducted on the topic “Mahatma Gandhiji”. Many students participated eagerly. And our Principal gave away the prizes and certificates to the winners and the participants. Finally, Mr. B.Balamurugan, I year Head delivered vote of thanks. And sweets were distributed to the students. The function was collaboratively organised by YRC, NCC, NSS and Zenith Club

Velammal Institute of Technology organized Blood Donation Camp on 04.11.2019 at 9:00 A.M, in the college campus. The staff and students volunteers approx 103 members donated blood to the Right Hospitals Chennai. Prof.K.Razak, Advisor of Velammal Institute of Technology gave the inaugural address and stressed the importance of donating blood. Dr.S.Soundararajan, Principal, of Velammal Institute of Technology addressed the gathering about the advantages of blood donation and motivated the students to give blood to the needy people.
Dr.M.Vinothini, Chief Doctor, Right Hospitals, Chennai spoke about the awareness of Blood Donatio
n camp, she was very much pleased and happy to see the volunteers who has come forward to donate blood. She also added that she expects the same support in future. Mr.C.Paramasivam, PRO, Right Hospital accompained the camp. The chief guest was felicitated by the staff co-ordinator Dr.P.Deivendran,YRC(IT-Dept.,). The camp was successfully organized by staff Coordinator Mr.K.Karthikeyan,NSS,(Maths-Dept.,) and, Mr.S.Senthil Muthu,III-IT, YRC Student Co-ordinator.

Blood Donation Camp Report 25th Jan, 2018

Velammal Institute of Technology organized Blood Donation Camp on 25.01.2018 at 9:30 A.M , in the college campus.The volunteers involved staff and students who donated blood to the Indian Red Cross Society, Egmore, Chennai. There were approximately 220 members who donated (153-Units ) the blood in the camp Prof.K.Razak, Advisor of Velammal Institute of Technology gave the Inaugural address and stressed the importance of donating blood. Dr.T.Chandrashekar, Principal of Velammal Institute of Technology addressed the gathering about the advantages of blood donation and motivated the students to give blood to the needy people.

Dr.S.Chandra, Chief doctor, Indian Red Cross Society, Egmore, Tamilnadu Branch said about the awareness of Blood Donation camp. He was very much pleased and happy to see the volunteers who has come forward to donate blood. He added that he expects the same in future too. Mr.K.Kalai Selvan,PRO, Indian Red Cross Society accompained the camp. The chief guest was felicitated by the staff co-ordinator Mr.P.Deivendran (IT-Dept.,).
