Integration Club
Miracles in Mathematics
The Integration Club, Department of Mathematics, organized an educational awareness program titled “Miracles in Mathematics” for 12th standard students at Government Higher Secondary School, Karanodai, on the 24th of November, 2022, within the school premises. The program aimed to acquaint students with the necessity and utility of simple tricks in Mathematics. Participants, predominantly from the XII Standard, actively engaged in the session, delving into various problem-solving techniques and shortcuts. During the interactive session, students posed several queries, showcasing their eagerness to grasp mathematical concepts more effectively. They were particularly intrigued by the shortcuts in puzzle-solving techniques, demonstrating their enthusiasm for learning.
The Role of Mathematics in future
The Integration Club, Department of Mathematics, organized an Educational Awareness Program for 11th standard students at Government Higher Secondary School, Kavaraipettai, on the 27th of January, 2020, within the school premises. The program aimed to enlighten students about the role and significance of Mathematics in their daily lives. Students actively participated in the session, engaging in discussions and learning about various applications of Mathematics. During the interactive session, students raised numerous queries, demonstrating their eagerness to understand the subject better. Mr. Senthil Kumar elucidated the applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Mathematics, providing insights into how AI enhances mathematical concepts and problem-solving abilities. The educational awareness program at Government Higher Secondary School, Kavaraipettai, was a resounding success, fostering a spirit of curiosity and enthusiasm for Mathematics among the students.
Applications of statistics in daily life
The Integration Club, Department of Mathematics, conducted an Educational Awareness Program focusing on the Application of Statistics in daily life for 10th standard students at Government Higher Secondary School, Gummidipoondi, on the 2nd of September, 2019, within the school premises. The program aimed to enlighten students about the necessity and significance of basic statistics in their day-to-day activities. Students from the 10th standard actively participated in the program, gaining insights into the practical applications of statistics in various aspects of life. During the interactive session, students enthusiastically raised several queries, displaying their keen interest in understanding the concepts better. The program provided students with valuable knowledge and skills that they could apply in real-life situations.

Drone Discovery Day: A Hands-On Experience for School Students
The Yelcom Revolutionary Club, in collaboration with Avian Aerospace, organized a workshop titled “Drone Discovery Day: A Hands-On Experience for School Students” on 9th February 2022 at the premises of Velammal Institute of Technology, Panchetti. The primary objective of the event was to introduce participants, particularly school students, to the operational mechanisms and potential applications of drones across various fields. The workshop witnessed a distinguished gathering of esteemed dignitaries and participants, including: Dr. N. Balaji, Principal Dr. B. Madhu, IQAC Coordinator, Dr. B. Sridevi, HoD, ECE Department, Faculty members from Electronics and Communication departments Students and staff members. The live demonstration, which took place within the campus premises, provided a unique hands-on experience to all participants.
Three Day Skill Development Training program on An Introduction to the Internet of Things (Exclusively for School Students)
The Yelcom Revolutionary Club, organized an educational event titled “An Introduction to Internet of Things for School Students” on 21st February 2022 to 23rd February 2022 at the premises of Velammal Institute of Technology, Panchetti – Thiruvallur District Students , Velammal Bodhi Campus Kumbakonam –Tanjore & Nagapattinam District Students, Velammal Bodhi Campus, Kanchipuram – Kanchipuram Distict Students. The primary objective of the event was to introduce participants, particularly school students, to the concepts that include IoT applications in everyday life, including smart homes, wearable technology, and connected vehicles. Colours of Science
The Quanta Club, Department of Physics, organized an educational awareness program “Colours of Science” for 12th standard students at Government Higher Secondary School, Gummidipoondi, on January 21, 2020, within the school premises. The program aimed to enlighten students about phenomena such as reflection, refraction, diffraction, scattering, absorption, and emission, all related to the science of light and color. Through engaging sessions and interactive discussions, students had the opportunity to delve deeper into these concepts, fostering a greater understanding and appreciation for the subject. Dr. R. Saraswathy, Club Coordinator, efficiently organized the event, ensuring its smooth execution and impactful delivery of content.
Science is worth exploring
The science awareness program organized by The Quanta Club, Department of Physics, was successfully held at the Government Higher Secondary School, Gummidipoondi, on February 28, 2020. The program witnessed active participation from the students who eagerly engaged in the various activities and sessions conducted throughout the day. Dr. R. Saraswathy, the Quanta Club coordinator, efficiently organized the event, ensuring its smooth execution and effective delivery of content. The program commenced with an introductory session, where students were introduced to the theme “Science Is Worth Exploring” and its significance in our lives. From exploring the principles of physics to understanding biological processes, the program provided students with a holistic view of the scientific world.
GO Green Club
CANCER AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
On 20.02.2020, the Go Green Club, Department of Chemistry at Velammal Institute of Technology organized a Cancer Awareness Campaign at Ponneri Junction. The event aimed to educate the public about cancer, its signs and symptoms, and the importance of early detection. Thousands of lives could be saved each year through increased awareness. The campaign witnessed active participation from the first-year students of the college, who played a vital role in spreading awareness and contributing to the social upliftment of society. By engaging with the community at Ponneri Junction, the students effectively conveyed the message of cancer awareness and emphasized the significance of proactive health-seeking behaviour.
GLOBAL WARMING AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
Global warming, driven by greenhouse gas emissions, poses a grave threat to our planet, manifesting in various forms such as widespread flooding and extreme weather events. It adversely impacts ecosystems, agriculture, water supplies and public health. Recognizing the urgency of addressing this issue, the Go Green Club, Department of Chemistry, Velammal Institute of Technology, organized a Global Warming Awareness Campaign at Janapanchatiram Junction on 08.02.2022.The campaign witnessed the enthusiastic participation from 25 students, who diligently raised awareness about the impacts of global warming on daily life. Through informative sessions and interactive activities, they educated the community about the importance of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and adopting sustainable practices.
RECYCLE WASTE AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
On February 26, 2022, the students of Velammal Institute of Technology enthusiastically participated in the Recycling Waste Awareness Campaign organized by the Go Green Club, Department of Chemistry, at Ponneri Junction. Recycling, the process of converting discarded materials into new products, was the focal point of this initiative. The campaign witnessed the enthusiastic participation from 23 students. By actively engaging in recycling efforts, the students not only contributed to their community but also demonstrated their commitment to environmental preservation. Through this event, participants gained practical insights into the importance of recycling in mitigating environmental degradation and addressing the challenges posed by global warming.
PLASTICS AWARENESS RALLY
Plastic waste adversely impacts ecosystems, habitats, human health, and sustainable development across the globe. Despite the severity of this issue, the general public and other key stakeholders are often not sufficiently informed or engaged in becoming part of the solution. Raising awareness about proper plastic disposal is therefore essential. 25 students of our college enthusiastically participated in the Plastic Awareness Rally conducted by the Go Green Club, Department of Chemistry, at Thachur Junction on 23rd April 2022. This rally aimed to educate the community on the environmental hazards of plastic waste and to promote sustainable practices
ORGANIC FERTILIZER AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
Organic fertilizers are naturally available mineral sources that contain moderate amounts of essential nutrients for plants. These fertilizers effectively address issues related to the use of synthetic fertilizers by maintaining soil fertility without the adverse effects associated with synthetic alternatives. 23 students from our college actively participated in the Organic Fertilizers Awareness Campaign held at Aandarkuppam Village on 15th May 2022. During the event, significant efforts were taken to educate the farmers of the village about the advantages of using organic fertilizers. The campaign aimed to promote sustainable agricultural practices, highlighting the benefits of organic fertilizers in improving soil health and crop yields.
Zenith Club
Customers to fill in the Challan and Application Forms”
As a part of the Extension Activities, the Zenith Club organised a campaign to teach “Customers to fill in the Challan and Application Forms” at Panchettion 04.02.2022. As an initiative, our college students identified the innocent people and taught them how to use the ATM properly. They also taught about the scams and made them aware of it. People learned and started to use the ATM Card independently and they immensely thanked the students. Our student members helped the needy people by reading the application form and also taught them how to fill the challan and other particulars in the application.
Awareness Campaign for Customers to check MRP and Expiry Date
As a part of the Extension Activities, the Zenith Club organised an awareness campaign at Andarkuppamfor the Customers to check MRP and Expiry Date of the products on 15.05.2022. Our student members went to Provision stores and Medical shops where they noticed many people bought groceries and medicines without noticing the MRP and the Expiry date. Our students voluntarily interacted with those people and gave awareness on checking MRP, Expiry Date and its importance. They practically explained MRP and Expiry Date to the common people. All the public thanked our student volunteers and requested us to conduct similar programmes in the future.
