Department Library

Objectives

  • To meet academic and research needs of Faculty, Staff, Students and Research scholars of the Institution.

  • To provide appropriate and comfortable ambiance for the use of library resources.
  • To extent facilities to hostellers beyond working hours.

Inter Departmental Co-Ordinator’s

Each Department has the facility of Department Library, which is equipped with the latest books for ready reference purposes. Every department has deputed a staff to coordinate with the Central Library relating to their department’s books & journals requirements. The department coordinators will play a vital role in disseminating the library’s new systems & services among their staff and student.

Rules and Regulations

  • Silence should be maintained in the library.
  • Students can obtain membership cards from the library by producing their identity cards. Library cards are not transferable.
  • Only one book can be borrowed on each card. Members are responsible for the books borrowed on their cards. Loss of books must be immediately reported to the librarian in writing and the member should either replace the book with a new copy or twice its original rate must be paid along with the overdue charges.
  • Students should produce their Identity Card along with the library card at the time of borrowing books.
  • Students should return all the library books on the last day of the university exam of each semester. Otherwise, they have to pay an overdue charge of Rs.100/- for each book.
  • An overdue charge of Re.1/- per day and Re.2/- from the third week onwards will be levied.
  • If a book is not returned within 28 days from the date of issue, students will not be allowed to attend the class.
  • Duplicate cards will be issued on payment of Rs.100/- for each card. All members should sign the entry register at the entrance of the library as a token of their member’s acceptance to adhere to the rules of the same.
  • Students are prohibited from taking their private belongings inside the library hall.
  • Books should be dealt with proper care. No damage or marking should be made.
  • Students can keep a book for a week from the date of issue. One renewal is permitted in case there is no demand for that book. Reference books and copies of university examination question papers are not lent.
  • Members receiving books shall examine them before they leave the library and report to the librarian if any damage is noticed.
  • The librarian may recall any book at any time even if the period of loan has not expired.
